In Q3 2011, Tele2’s net sales amounted to SEK 10,340 (9,989) million, corresponding to a growth excluding exchange rate difference of 6 percent. EBITDA amounted to SEK 2,893 (2,751) million, equivalent to an EBITDA margin of 28 (28) percent.

Pulling in the right direction

Today’s results point to the third quarter as yet another record quarter. It shows that we are becoming better and better at understanding and meeting our customers’ needs. Our excellent performance also demonstrates that all our operations are pulling in the right direction, in a joint effort!

Operational progress in several markets

  • New EBITDA record in Russia of SEK 1,214 (1,011) million, and an EBITDA margin of 40 (38) percent.
  • Mobile revenue up 7 percent in Sweden, as demand for smartphones and data services remained strong. Tele2 intends to acquire Network Norway, thereby becoming the third largest mobile operator in Norway.
  • Significant progress in Central Europe & Eurasia through Tele2 Kazakhstan where the total customer base now amounts to 1.1 million, and Tele2 Croatia that for the first time reached free cash-flow breakeven.
  • Tele2 Netherlands expanded margin in fixed broadband to 35 (30) percent following the integration of BBNed.
