Mobile telephony
Our offers and market position
Tele2 currently offers mobile telephony in eight countries. We own and operate our own infrastructure in six countries. In the other two markets, we operate mobile virtual networks (MVNs). Tele2 offers competitively priced, easy-to-use services, both in the postpaid and in the prepaid segments. We hold market-leading positions in prepaid mobile telephony in several countries under successful brands, e.g. Comviq in Sweden and Zelta Zivtina in Latvia.
In the corporate segment, we also offer more advanced services, in order to satisfy the need for buying communication as a service. One example is “Tele2 Direct”, a network-based company switchboard service, which was launched in Sweden in spring 2009.
Our priorities
In order to meet customer expectations, Tele2 continuously strives to enhance its services and provide more value for money. In 2009, we improved our web-based administration services, e.g. mobile e-mail services and MyComviq in Sweden. We also lowered our roaming charges during the year.Value-added services, e.g. Ring Back Tones, have successfully been launched in Russia, increasing Customer Lifetime Value. During 2009, we also launched a back-up service in order to increase customer loyalty. At the end of the year, we launched a personalized mobile portal in order to capture customers’ service preferences.
The mobile phone is fast becoming the preferred communication tool for both consumers and business users, not only for voice communication but also for e-mail, chat and other forms of social media. Improved handsets and new, innovative services will continue to drive increased Internet use on mobile phones. Going forward, Tele2 will focus on integrating and enabling new communication services in today’s offerings. We will also focus on developing new ways of pricing and bundling voice and data services.
